STORY DESCRIPTION

With the unstoppable economic advancement of Metro Naga comes the development of the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. The booming economy of the city brings new opportunities for investors, businessmen and the like, and  at the same time, poses a great  demand for protection from natural calamities and all other forms of disasters.  Being the economic center of the province of Camarines Sur, the City of Naga needs to prepare, therefore, for the worst that typhoons can bring. David Michael V. Padua, a.k.a  MIKE PADUA, steps up to this challenge.

Mike Padua, dubbed as the storm chaser” by the research team, has earned his local fame through his invaluable help to the typhoon-stricken area of Naga City and other nearby towns by providing early alert signals of upcoming typhoons. Through his state-of-the-art way of tracking and monitoring, he’s able to determine the typhoon’s exact location, movements, wind velocity and gustiness; thus, allowing his fellow Nagueño to prepare long beforehand, as the subtitle suggests.

This community-based research, therefore, seeks to minimize the damage to properties during calamities and more importantly, bring down the casualty count with the help of the first ever storm chaser of the City of Naga.
